Originally, the practice of Thai ancient massage takes about 2 hours to 3 hours and is done slowly. The cause of fatigue is worsening blood circulation. In Japan, we hear the word “foot massage, massage”, but even at Thai ancient massage, we will first practice the sole of the foot sufficiently. It stimulates muscles, blood vessels and nerves by massaging the soles of the sole and promotes blood circulation. By doing so, waste products are washed away as well, and oxygen is effectively replenished by clean blood.
Two-thirds of the muscles are in the legs, and the calves are called the “second heart” among them, and they play the role of a pump that pumps the blood sent out from the heart back to the heart. Usually, the blood pressure of the foot part is only about one tenth of the blood pressure of the upper body, so blood does not circulate well on the foot far from the heart. Also on the sole of the feet and instep, the nerves controlling the whole body such as autonomic nerves are concentrated. By stimulating the back of this foot and the reflective area of the instep, we can arrange the physical condition and maintain health. Therefore, it is very important to properly perform the sole of the feet.
Thai massage begins with treating the sole first, but then presses the entire leg along the energy line (sen). After compressing the mother and child, like compression of the palm, we will compress the six sen on the legs back and forth repeatedly. It encourages the flow of “Qi” and encourages circulation of blood and lymph. Blood circulates through the blood vessels, but by pressing it intentionally pushes waste matter inside the cell to the capillary. Originally, in the operation of the leg part, it takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour. This is one of the characteristics of Thai massage.
After that, we perform treatment such as arm, waist, back, shoulder, neck, sometimes face and head, promote blood flow of the whole body, and warm the body. We will stretch while checking the warm condition. Thai massage is called “the world’s most pleasant massage”.
